About "El Mangroove"

THE DESTINATION

El Mangroove is located only 20 minutes away from Liberia International Airport, making it the closest beach resort to an international airport within Costa Rica. It’s ideally located near various National Parks in Guanacaste and is just 15 minutes from the artsy and bustling town of El Coco, which has over 25 different restaurants and bars. Enjoy rafting, hiking, sailing, fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling and surfing, amongst other activities, within a short distance from the resort. Natural wonders such as Rincón de la Vieja Volcano and the iconic Río Celeste “a blue volcanic river” and thermal mineral pools are just a short drive away.

I AM

I am a sun appreciator. The scent of rising life through the ocean’s horizon, triggers my day. My reflection on the water shows who I really am. There’s a feeling of balance in every corner, but most importantly, within me. All comfort is thoughtful with people and nature, with technology and the moments where its absence is welcomed. Swim a lap, browse a magazine and head to the spa… time’s on my side. The beach forest is the ideal scenery for a sunset picnic. The DJ kicks-off the night and after the party I find myself appreciating the sun again, rising.

I AND THE MANGROVE BECOME EL MANGROOVE.

The oldest and largest national park in Costa Rica has been recently declared by the UNESCO as a World Heritage site. This park encompasses 192.000 acres of marine area. We will cruise around the famous surf spot of ¨Witches Rock¨ and stop in front of Nancite Beach, best known as a nesting place for Ridley turtles. Next stop is Bat´s Island, where we will visit the ranger station at ¨El Refugio¨, an amazing placing for both snorkeling or taking a short hike to one of the small hills overlooking the archipelago. Finally, we will sail around looking for dolphins, false killer whales, giant Pacific stingrays, and whale sharks.

Whale Expeditions

The Gulf of Papagayo has it all, from dolphins, turtles and giant Pacific stingrays, to Humpback whales, which are abundant in Costa Rica. Guanacaste has the longest migration season of humpback whales in the world, coming from the north (California) from December to April and south (the Antarctic) from July to November. Humpback whales come to our calm and shallow waters to raise their calf the first 3 months.
